Astrid-2 project in Oulu

The second Swedish scientific microsatellite, Astrid-2, was launched 10 December 1998
at 11:57:07 into an orbit of 1000 km altitude and 83° inclination (i.e., nearly
polar orbit). The project (that ended about seven months later, 24 July, when the contact
to the satellite was lost) was managed, technically, by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) and, scientifically, by the Alfvén Laboratory of the Royal Institute of
Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden.
The Oulu group is involved in the analysis software development for the joint electric
and magnetic field instrument, EMMA, build by the KTH group. More precisely, we are
working on the current sweep part of the program.
