INTERBALL is a Russian project consisting of two pairs of satellites (satellite
- subsatellite). The first pair, Tail Probe, was launched 3 August 1995, and the
second pair, Auroral Probe, in 29 August 1996. The apogee of the satellite pairs
are about 31 Re and 3 Re, respectively.
The Space Physics Group of Oulu is not involved in the INTERBALL project in the level
of satellite instrumentation. However, the group has an official part in the ground-based
activities of the mission: see the collection of INTERBALL related ground-based data in our ftp server.
