The Space Institute of University of Oulu, Finland was founded in 1988 as an
organization to foster cooperation in space activities. The aims of the Institute
are to plan, direct and put in effect education, research and development in space
oriented topics.
There are no employed personnel. Except for the representation of the University of
Oulu (UO), only representatives of active space projects are participating in the
operations of the institute. The University nominates an Advisory Board for the Institute.
Basic funding comes from the University budget.
