Most of the photos were taken with Nikon SLR system. Lens and film details are listed for certain photos in info window accessible by info button at the bottom of the page showing the photo. Bodies used for most of the images include F601 (N6006) and F80 (N80). A short review of my newest lens, AF Nikkor 28mm f/1.4 D, can be found here

The images were scanned, with a few exceptions, directly from negatives or slide positives. Slide film was used for majority of colour photos. Scanning was done using Agfa DuoScan scanner (see photo below), and after summer 2000 using Polaroid SprintScan 4000 film scanner. Scanning resolution for Agfa  was 1000 PPI and for Polaroid 2000 PPI. A small film scanner comparison can be found here and my first impressions from Canon FS4000US film scanner can be found here. All image processing was done in Adobe Photoshop.

The gallery is best viewed with resolution of at least 1280 x 960 and 24-bit colours. Using a browser in full screen mode should allow viewing most images in whole even with resolution of 800 x 600. 16-bit or fewer colours can result in some visible artifacts.

Average image size varies from 58 kilobytes of earliest photos to over 100 kilobytes of newer larger resolution images. Those can be used to estimate loading time of around 25 - 40 seconds for a slow modem connection and around 10 - 20 seconds for ISDN.

Comments, negative or positive, and any suggestions for improving the gallery can be sent to Petri.Kekkonen@oulu.fi
